Remember, we're talking about EUROPEAN cars with EUROPEAN modders. The ones available for the pre are far from desirable.Ĭost. Now if all of these producers did two things.made them more reasonably priced, and did them for the E53 pre facelift. Rims - Hamann first, AC second (odd spokes, and I like flat paint) and maybe Hartge third.all the others are terrible. While the Lumma interior is unique, I don't like the checkered CF.looks too busy. Interior/steering wheel - It's a tie between Masonry, AC and Hamann as I like the flat bottom and suede inserts on the steering wheels themselves. The MASONRY kit is the worst, especially with those squared off tips.terrible. All the others don't look much different than stock and I probably wouldn't notice them unless it was side-by-side with a bone stock X. The Lumma comes in second since it has that center mesh vent to match the front. Rear bumpers - I LOVE the G-Power with those huge dual exhausts coming out of the center.makes it stand apart from the rest for sure. The Hartge is fine just because it looks like a monochromatic version of stock, and it doesn't have those huge bolted on wheels arches. I like the smooth siding, but I also like the slight slits in the MASONRY kit vs the bigger openings in the G-Power kit. Side cladding - Personally I don't like how "added-on" it obviously looks, so it's kind of a tradeoff there. Lumma is the only one (in these pics at least) with eyelids, which I think makes it look finately a good match if your going to have an agressive looking bodykit with bumper opening for small children. A stock hood is fine as well, but if I had to choose, I like the 4 vents the MASONRY adds, especially on white with exposed CF. Hoods/headlights - I like the Masonry because the vents looks like they're intergrated into the bodywork vs the AC's looking like they have exposed rivets. The Hartge opening is ooook, but it looks like it's an add-on vs an actual bumper replacement, and it sticks out WAY too far, making it look cheap. I could do without the harder, raised edges on the G-Power kit, but since the Lumma kit lacks an LED strip (which I think looks unique) in exchange for an actual usable foglight, it's a tradeoff. "Money aint a thang."įront bumper - I like the G-Power the most because it has a similar LED strip that the Masonry kit has, but a more similar style opening to the Lumma kit. But seriously, is anyone going to race the strip in a SHOW CAR? Were also talking about a land that is riddled with Lambys, Fararis, Bentleys, Jags, BMWs, Audis, Aston Martins, Benz's, etc. That is why we clash with Americans, because Americans have a "need for speed", so they would only put the kit on a big engine. The Lumma kit, for example, was originally modded for the deasel engine, not the V8. Beyond that, I don't know enough about it.Ĭost. I've seen the parts unassembled (laid out on the floor). There is a creater presense of AC Schnitzer here in South Florida because of CEC located in Miami. It still looks very much like a BMW even after being fully kitted. The installation of Lumma is less destructive than G-Power as well.ĪC Schnitzer, to me, keeps the "essense" of a BMW. It's the most expensive because a lot of what you see is customized, not created and stocked by Lumma. I was offered one, but turned it down for another kit. Anyone looking for a sponsorship, let me know. G-Power would like to get a stronger presense in USA. But once the parts are on, they are on pretty snug. G-Power parts will fit snug, but that is because it is a destructive installation - flanging of wheel arches, cutting, drilling, etc. Mansory is the new kid on the block for the X5, but it looks like a G-Power on drugs. I'm not a fan of Mansory or G-Power, but I know enough about all the brands.
